Origin

In 2005, after having opened offices in Poland, China and the United Arab Emirates, Estudio Lamela wins the competition for the Santander Call Center in Querétaro (Mexico), together with Springall+Lira as local partner. The conceptual and licensing project is developed in the Madrid offices, moving the team to Mexico City for the executive project stage.

The development of this important project is followed by several successful competitions and some direct commissions that are developed in the newly created Mexico City office.

After the crisis of 2008, the general director in Mexico was invited to become a partner, being in charge of the Mexican office, which from that moment on will work independently, although linked to the central office, changing the name to lam arquitectos, as an acronym of the name from which it derives.

Since then and throughout these first 18 years, the office has developed more than 350 projects, including master plans, housing, corporate, commercial, hotel, industrial and airport projects.

After the COVID 19 pandemic, the office moved its headquarters to the city of Querétaro.

Through a careful internal process, we have consolidated a company that tries to complement the human values, so linked to the value of the internal and external team, with the efficiency and economy required by the clients.

Having a team with disruptive thinking from culture, sports and different areas of architecture makes us an office with many voices, many ideas and a lot of commitment to ourselves and our clients.

We consider ourselves a family more than a company. The connection between our work and the people who create it is very important to us. We work with creative ideas, but also with a quality system that allows us to develop large-scale and complex projects. Sensitivity, order, transparency, and constant communication with the team, consultants, and clients have allowed us to bring out the best in everyone involved and face any situation with positive energy.

As we consider ourselves a family, we emphasize that people are better every day with empathy and mutual commitment.

Outwardly, we are an empathetic, sensitive company, balanced between the creative and the financial; when starting a project we have in mind all those involved: developer, investors, builder, the end user, but also the ordinary citizen who may not participate actively in the project, but will somehow live the result of so much effort. This is the only way we understand that the project will be kept within a price range, built on time and with the right quality.

We consider that one of the most important dimensions of our work is to work with functionality, well-being and emotions. To achieve this, we work with balance, intelligence, creativity, dedication and a lot of affection.
